FAQ
Where are you based?
I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa. I work from my home studio in Welgemoed but I travel all around to meet my clients! If you want me to come to you, I will require a travel fee, depending on where it is. But alternatively, you can book a consultation and meet me in my studio.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
I don’t have a traditional shopfront, but I do have a home studio where I host fittings and consultations for my clients. This is also where I create my work. If you would like to visit to try on any of my designs or to discuss a custom piece, you’ll need to make an appointment.
How do I place an order?
If there are any items you would like to buy, hire or custom order you can send me a message directly via my contact form; via email; or via any of my social media platforms.
When will I get my order?
The timeframe of each order will vary. Custom pieces can take up to 8 weeks to make but ready-made pieces can be ready for delivery the day after your order has been confirmed.
How do I get a quote?
You can send me a message directly via my contact form; via email; or via any of my social media platforms. Please provide a reference image and any details you would like to include in the design. The more information I have the more accurate the quote will be. If you want me to design a garment for you and base a quote on that it would be best to book a consultation so we can discuss your specific needs.
I can't attend fittings, can you still make my garment?
It would all depend on the type of garment you want made. I prefer to work closely with my clients to ensure a perfect fit because garments made without fittings cannot be guaranteed to fit like a fully custom made piece. But I can make a mock-up garment first and post that to you to try on before proceeding to make the actual garment. Please contact me with your specific request so we can discuss your individual needs.
Do you do alterations?
Yes. Sometimes we have a garment that we simply cannot let go of but it just needs some changes. I am here to help where I can. Altering the fit or look of a garment is often as time consuming as creating a garment from scratch which can be expensive. So please bear this in mind. But I am open to any requests or challenges and I appreciate people who would save a garment rather than let it end up in a landfill.
I have something I'd like made, can you make it?
You can always send me your request so I can reply to your specific enquiry. But, the odds are, I can most likely make the piece you have in mind. I make clothing items ranging from everyday wear to bespoke bridal pieces to extravagant gowns and even costumes. Please know that I can only take on a select number of commissions at a time and I’ll need to check when I can add you to the schedule.
I'm getting married and I can't find a Dress, can you help?
Of course! I love making bridal wear, especially something unique that cannot be found in stores. Contact me for a consultation so I can turn your dream dress into a reality.
How long does it take to make a garment?
The timeframe of each garment will vary depending on the design and the details. The more complex the garment, the longer the timeframe. But custom pieces normally take up to 8 weeks to make. Sometimes several fittings with the client need to take place in between different stages of work. It is a time-consuming art but at the end of the day, it is worth it.
How soon should I contact you if I need an outfit for a specific date?
As soon as possible! I work on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, with a non-refundable deposit securing your place in my busy schedule. I’ll always do my best to accommodate your request, so please feel free to contact me even if you have a tight deadline.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely! I understand that getting a bespoke piece made can be expensive so I assess each request on a case-by-case basis. There is a 50% non-refundable deposit before I start working on your piece, and then the remaining 50% can either be paid in instalments or on completion of your garment. I am always open to discussing a payment solution that works for both parties.
Can I use your garments in a Shoot, Movie, Project?
Definitely! Simply contact me to discuss your needs. Whether you require an outfit to be made for your project or if you would like to hire one of my existing pieces, I'm happy to get involved.
